Top Graduate Management Admission Test 2022

There is one question in the minds of students who just completed or have completed their graduation, which Management exam they should prepare for.

So in this blog, we are providing you with all the information related to the Management exam that will help you secure admission to the International and Indian premier B-schools.

Top Graduate Management Admission Test

#1) Common Aptitude Test (CAT)

CAT or Common entrance test is for getting entry into the Elite B-schools in India.

Who conducts the CAT exam?

One of the IIMs conducts this exam on a rotational basis.

It is an exam designed to test candidate’s

  • Verbal and Reading skills
  • Data interpretation and Logical Reasoning,
  • Quantitative Aptitude

The full exam comprises 100 questions with 3 marks for each question and a negative marking of -1 for each wrong MCQ. If you want admission into the top B-schools, you have to be in the top percentile.

#2) Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT):

GMAT is the only exam whose scores are valid for getting admission into the top B-schools in India and abroad. Students can retake the GMATR exam once every 16 days and only five times a year. GMAT is a computer-based adaptive test, and the duration of this exam is about 3 hours and a few minutes.

What does it test?

  • Analytical Writing
  • Integrated Reasoning
  • Quants and Verbal.

To secure admission to a reputable B-school, you must score more than 720. Remember that during the exam, you should not waste any time because you will move to other questions once you have completed the previous ones.

#3) Graduate Record Examinations (GRE):

Another test that numerous students prepare for to get admission into the best business schools and other higher education courses in the world. Students preparing for the Master’s program other than the Management take this exam and it takes less time to prepare than the GMAT.

What does it test?

  • Analytical Writing(2 essays)
  • Quantitative Aptitude, and Verbal Reasoning
  • No negative marking
  • Results are valid for 5 year

To get admission into premier B-schools you should aim for a score of 320 to 340.

#4) Management Aptitude Test (MAT)

National level test conducted by the AIMA(All India Management Association) for admission into B-schools in India, excluding IIMs. The MAT comprises a total of five sections

  • Language Comprehension
  • Data Analysis and Sufficiency
  • Mathematics
  • Intelligence & Critical Reasoning
  • Indian and Global Environment

It can be taken up to fours times a year and has negative marking for wrong answers. Score results are valid for one year.

#5) Xavier’s Aptitude Test (XAT):

XAT is conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur annually for admission into business schools in India, excluding IIM. It is basically an aptitude test that assesses test-takers ability in fours sections:

  • Decision Making,
  • Verbal and Logical Ability,
  • Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, and
  • General Knowledge.

It contains 100 questions with one mark for each question and 0.25 negative marking for wrong questions.
